How to Check Smartphone Battery Health Using a Digital Multimeter

English: A faulty battery is one of the most common reasons why a smartphone fails to 

power on or reboots constantly. In this guide, I will show you how to accurately test a 

battery's voltage and health using a digital multimeter.

Hausa: Lalacewar batir na daya daga cikin manyan dalilan da suke sa waya ta ki tashi ko 

take kashe kanta. A cikin wannan darasin, zan nuna muku yadda zaku gwada karfin 

wutar batir da lafiyarsa ta amfani da "digital multimeter

Step 1: Set the Multimeter / Saita Multimeter

​English: First, turn on your digital multimeter and set the dial to DC Voltage (20V). Since 

smartphone batteries usually range between 3.7V and 4.4V, the 20V setting is the most 

accurate for this test.

Hausa: Da farko, kunna multimeter dinka sannan ka saita ta a kan DC Voltage (20V). 

Tunda yawancin batirin waya suna da karfin wuta tsakanin 3.7V zuwa 4.4V, saita ta a 20V 

shi ne zai ba ka amsa mafi kyau

Step 2: Identify the Terminals / Gano Inda Wutar Take

​English: Look at the battery connectors. Identify the Positive (+) and Negative (-) terminals.

Place the Black probe on the Negative terminal

Hausa: Duba karshen batir dinka inda yake jona da waya. Ka gano inda alamar (+) take da inda alamar (-) take

Saka Jan wayar multimeter a inda (+) yake

Saka Bakar wayar a inda (-) yake

Step 3: Reading the Results / Karanta Sakamakon Gwajin

​English: Check the reading on the multimeter screen

3.7V to 4.2V: The battery has enough charge to power the phone

Below 3.4V: The battery is too low to start the phone and needs boosting or charging

0.0V: The battery is likely dead or the internal protection circuit is damaged

Hausa: Duba abin da ya fito a fuskar multimeter dinka

3.7V zuwa 4.2V: Batir yana da isasshen karfin da zai tayar da waya

Kasa da 3.4V: Wutar batir din ta yi kasa sosai, yana bukatar a yi masa "boosting" ko a yi masa caji

0.0V: Batir din ya mutu gaba daya ko kuma "circuit" din cikinsa ya lalace

shows a good voltage but the phone still won't turn on, you need to check for a short circuit on the motherboard
